Background 
The youth development programme was initiated in 2008 by His Grace the Archbishop PG Nzuza. It stemmed from a need to restore the relevance of the church in the lives of young people. The church leadership recognized an appeal for the youth to be heard and to be involved in other programmes taking place in the church at any given time.

When an official youth leadership (preacher) was introduced in 2000, it was then that the church embarked on integrating youth fully into leadership. Since this commitment the church continues to enhance its youth leadership.

Vision 
To create an environment that enables the church to have youth that are vibrant and yet still have a Godly lifestyle.

Strategy
The programme is founded on three basic principled programmes that seek to stabilize the life of young Christians in our church.This strategy is the ultimate goal of the YDP and to achieve it we work on all three simultaneously.

The youth development is currently pioneered by preachers, responsible for identifying, organizing and coordinating all youth related programs at CHG.
